Roberto is a true Carioca, a local title for those born in Rio de Janeiro, and is a storehouse of tips and suggestions on all aspects of life in Rio. Dirk, a Belgian artist, takes care of the guesthouse, its decoration and daily needs. Both are always ready to help, support and make you feel at home at their house as well as in Rio.

Ananab Guesthouse Rio is located in Laranjeiras, a residential district in the middle of the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, with an easy access to the historical areas such as Lapa, City Centre and Santa Teresa, tourist spots such as Sugarloaf and the Christ statue at the Corcovado Mountain and the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema. From the guesthouse you can take a wide range of public or private transportation to move around in Rio de Janeiro.

From the International Airport:

The best option is to take the Linha Vermelha Freeway (Red Line) towards the south zone of Rio. Then you should take the exit to Centro/Leopoldina, since you have to head to Santa Barbara Tunnel. As you get off the freeway you have to turn right on Francisco Bicalho Street on the lane closer to the canal. Go ahead to reach the President Vargas Avenue. After the first bus stop, move to the right lane in order to have access to the tunnel exit which will be the second or third right (you can choose). The latter one is in the beginning of the Sabadrome Stadium. You will see it anyway. Right past the Sambadrome, turn right towards Santa Barbara Tunnel. You will see the sign "Tunnel Santa Barbara / Laranjeiras". Go ahead and as you cross the tunnel, stay on the right to take the first street to your right. That is Laranjeiras Street (Rua das Laranjeiras). Drive down a few more minutes until you reach Rua Alice on your right. Turn right on Alice Street and drive up the hill until you see the Ananab Guesthouse on your left.

One of the highlights will be your breakfast. Served between 9 and 11 am, the table is set in a homely manner and includes coffee, tea, tropical fruits, fresh juices, bread, homemade cake, cheeses, marmalade, honey, home made yoghurt and a special item -Vitamina. A healthy meal to start your day!
