Merced Lake is located on the south-west of San Francisco and is a huge attraction by itself. It is so great that it surpasses all other lakes in the vicinity of San Francisco. The land surrounding the lake is turned into a park area. The lake is a creation of nature. It is home to reptiles, amphibians and more than 50 species of birds, which nest, breed and feed on the lake. There are always lots of tourists who find much fun on the banks of the lake. San Francisco Zoo includes more than 260 species, 39 of which are on the verge of extinction. The zoo participates in the preservation of species. The Aquarium of the Gulf is quite an unusual sight. When you go through the glass tunnel, you have a beautiful view of more than 20,000 marine animals. A giant octopus, colorful sea stars, giant sharks, seahorses, and many other inhabitants of deep waters...

The Golden Gate Park is known for its more than one million trees, eucalyptus trees, pines and cypresses in particular. The Golden Gate park is the main recreational area for the citizens of San Francisco and offers the visitors an opportunity to not only relax, but also explore a lot of attractions, including numerous scenic meadows and lakes, various museums and monuments, as well as public institutions. A variety of cultural events are held in the park the whole year round. One of the jewels of the park is the Conservatory of Flowers where more than 100,000 plants from around the globe are collected. Here, you can find yourself in a fairy-tale forest full of exotic flowers and orchids. Today, the Golden Gate Park is the third most visited city park in the USA.
