Nice
Nice is the pearl of the Cote d'Azur of France. Nice is incredibly popular due to its rich history and culture, beautiful nature and a high level of service. Nice has a wonderful climate - the sun shines almost all year round there. Beaches in Nice are numerous, and all of them are shingle. Nice holds a very popular annual carnival, one of the most famous in the world, along with carnivals in Venice and Rio de Janeiro.

The Old Nice is surrounded by the Castle hill in the east. On the hill that is almost 100 meters high there once stood a fortress and a cathedral. At the time when Nice belonged to the county of Savoy, Louis XIV succeeded to conquer the city for a short term. Then, in 1706, he ordered the fortress to be blown. This is the reason why, having risen to the Chateau, you will see not the medieval castle, but only a few fragments of the castle wall. However, you should climb the mountain for two reasons: firstly, the summit plateau offers a luxurious view not only of the Old Town, but also of the whole Nice. You can see perfectly clear the whole Promenade des Anglais from above. Firstly, from the Chateau, one can watch the planes take off and land in the airport located in front of it. Secondly, it is worth to climb this mountain in order to enjoy a glimpse of beautiful nature.

The entire territory is a huge garden with exotic plants, overgrown with palm trees, cacti with huge finger-long spines, and a beautiful artificial waterfall in the center. On the southern summit of the hill, there is a museum of shipping (Musee Naval), where you can see models of ships and navigational instruments. Time permitting, be sure to climb the Castle mountain twice, in the afternoon and in the evening. In daylight, you can enjoy views of the city and the sea, and at dusk, you will be able to see an endless sea of ??lights. The English Embankment is the most beautifully lit at night. A huge number of streetlights, the hotel lights and the beach in the glow of spotlights will give you an incredibly romantic, unique feeling.

Once in Nice, be sure to drop at the famous Negresco Hotel, which has become more a museum than a hotel. Coco Chanel, Ernest Hemingway, Marlene Dietrich, Francoise Sagan - this is not an exhaustive list of famous guests who have ever stayed at this hotel.

Nice is a paradise for museum lovers. Here you can visit the Massena Museum which will introduce the history of Nice and the creativity of local artists to you, the Museum of Modern Art, which exhibits a collection of works by European and transatlantic avant-garde artists of the 60's, Marc Chagall Museum and Matisse Museum. Of course, in such a city as Nice, you would like to not only to see the museums, stroll along the waterfront, and climb mountains, but to go on a shopping spree as well. Rue de France street will fit perfectly for these purposes, with the adjacent pedestrian street, Rue Massena. Going along Massena from the west side to the end, you will get to the Place Massena, where the largest department store Galeries Lafayette is situated. Other shopping centers can be found on the way from Place Massena to the Jean Medecin street in a northerly direction.

If you want to visit the places of celebrities, you will have such a possibility in Nice. In the old city of Nice, for example, there is a house where Nicolo Paganini lived. In this very house, on May 27,1840, this legendary personality performed his virtuosic play for the last time.

There is of course a lot more to see in Nice, and if you come there, you will see that it is even better in reality than all the stories about it.
